A 16-year-old boy has been sentenced for fatally stabbing a man at a house in Leicester.
Louis Howard, 35, died at a property in Oakdale Close, Braunstone Frith, shortly after 22:40 BST on 9 April.
Leicester Crown Court heard Mr Howard died from a single stab wound to the chest.
The boy, who cannot be named due to his age, was detained for three years on Friday having pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
The court heard paramedics tried to treat Mr Howard at the property after he was injured with a combat-style knife, which was used with "severe force", but he could not be saved.
The boy was originally charged with murder, but pleaded guilty to manslaughter after the prosecution accepted he had a "loss of control".
A 33-year-old woman was given a 21-month jail term after pleading guilty to assisting an offender, while a 32-year-old woman was given a 15-month prison sentence for the same offence.
Neither woman can be named for legal reasons.
