Teen in hospital with serious injuries after crash

A teenager is in hospital with serious injuries after a crash on an A-road.

The A370 Main Road at Cleeve, south of Bristol, was closed in both directions by police investigating the crash on Tuesday.

Avon and Somerset Police said emergency services were called to the area at about 17:30 BST, after a collision involving a motorbike and a car.

Officers said the motorcyclist - a women in her late teens - remained in hospital with serious injuries. Her next of kin have been informed.

The car's driver was taken to hospital as a precaution, police said.

The road between Meetinghouse Lane and Cleeve Garden Centre reopened at around 01:30 BST following specialist investigation work and recovery of the vehicles.

Police officers have asked anyone with dashcam footage or information about the crash to contact them.
