Man charged after car crash kills teen at bus stop

A man has been charged over the death of a teenager who was hit by a car at a bus stop two years ago.
Essex Police and paramedics were called to Stock, near Chelmsford, at about 08:20 GMT on 3 November 2023 after reports two children had been struck by a vehicle.
Freddie Coleman, 15, died at the scene, while the other boy was seriously injured.
Stephen Mahebadevan, 25, of Orford Crescent, Chelmsford, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving and is due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court on 28 November.
Freddie was on his way to Mayflower High School in Billericay when the incident happened.
In a statement released after his death, parents Jason and Jo described their son as a "kind, happy, funny boy" who was loved by everyone.
Mayflower head teacher Damian Lee said Freddie was "much loved" and he was proud of how school staff supported students after the tragedy.
