Two men arrested over suspected stabbing

Two men have been arrested in connection with a suspected stabbing which left the victim in hospital.

Police said it happened on Birchington Avenue in the Grangetown area of Redcar and Cleveland at about 15:30 GMT on Saturday.

Cleveland Police said it had arrested two men - one aged 27 and from the Marton area, the other 34 years old and from Grangetown - on suspicion of Section 18 wounding. A spokesperson said both remained men in custody for questioning.

The 37-year-old victim suffered head and arm injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening, police added.
