A drug dealer who was locked up for injuring a disgruntled customer with a machete has been jailed again after police found £16,000 of drugs cash in his bedroom.
Abdullah Swaid tried to run off when police stopped a black BMW in Bradford on 10 January following a suspected drug deal, Bradford Crown Court heard.
Prosecutor Holly Clegg said that, when he was detained, officers seized a "burner" phone with 180 drugs messages on it, along with a chewing gum tub containing crack cocaine and heroin wraps.
On Wednesday, Swaid, 22, who admitted charges relating to the possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply and possession of criminal cash, was jailed for four years and eight months.
Back in March 2023, Swaid, now of Barden Road in Wakefield, was detained for three years and nine months after he attacked a drugs customer with a machete causing injuries to his arm.
The driver of the BMW that police stopped in January, 28-year-old Umar Javed, was also arrested and he had three iPhones on him along with £300 in cash.
Javed, of Hollybank Road in Bradford, also admitted drugs offences and was jailed for 27 months.
An address in Bradford linked to Swaid was searched by police and Miss Clegg described how officers found bundles of cash, including £50 notes, and bags of coins.
The court heard that Javed had no previous convictions and had only been involved in driving the car on one day.

Barrister James Yearsley, for Swaid, said it appeared that the defendant's past had caught up with him following his release from his previous sentence.
"He has got involved in this to pay off that debt," submitted Mr Yearsley.
He said the money found in the bedroom would have been given to those above Swaid in the chain.
Recorder Simon Kealey KC said Swaid had pleaded guilty on the basis that he had been pressured into paying off a drugs debt, but he said the defendant was an undoubtedly trusted courier and dealer for his superiors.
The judge said the offending was aggravated by the fact that Swaid was still on licence from the earlier sentence at the time he was dealing.
