A man from Staffordshire has been arrested, police said

A man has been arrested following a car crash in which he was injured, police have said.

Officers were called to Treverbyn Road, St Austell, Cornwall, at about 04:50 BST on Thursday after receiving reports a car had crashed into an unoccupied parked car, Devon and Cornwall Police said.

The force said the driver had fled the scene and after a search was conducted, a man was found in Gwallon Road at 05:15. He was taken to hospital to be treated for a head injury.

The man, aged in his 30s and from Staffordshire, was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drink or drugs, police added.
