Police are appealing for witnesses after a moped rider was seriouslty hurt in a road crash

A moped rider remains in hospital with serious injuries after a crash involving a car.

The man, in his 30s, was hurt when his moped was in collision with a white BMW 2 series in Peterborough on Friday at about 19:50 BST.

Police said the man, who is from the city and was riding a Yamaha 125cc on Natures Way in Hampton Hargate, was not thought to be in a life-threatening condition.

They said the car driver, a 37-year-old man, also from Peterborough, had been arrested on suspicion of causing injury by dangerous driving and released on bail.

Cambridgeshire Police appealed for witnesses, external to the crash and the lead-up to it.
