Applications for school uniform grants for the academic year are now available to parents and carers in Guernsey.

The States said the fastest way to apply for the grant was by completing an online application.

It said grants were issued annually by the Committee for Employment and Social Security to provide children with a "basic school uniform".

The grant is determined by "annual household income and allowed expenses, so not all applicants will be eligible for a full uniform grant", the States said.

The States said applications must be submitted by 21 August to receive the grant before the start of the autumn term.

Applications could be made up until the Easter holidays, but no grants would be issued before 22 July to allow for applications to be processed, it said.
