Fire investigated after blaze destroys roof

Fire crews are searching for hotspots after a blaze in a house roof space overnight.

Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service (OFRS) was called to the incident at about 21:00 BST on Monday in the Longfields area of Bicester, Oxfordshire.

At its height, the fire took six crews to control and stop it from spreading to neighbouring properties.

Firefighters said nobody had been hurt and that the incident was not being treated as suspicious.

OFRS said the crews from Bicester, Kidlington and Rewley Road had been supported by the command unit from Slade Park and the incident support unit from Eynsham to deal with the "rapidly developing fire".

It added that a crew from Woodstock Fire Station had attended throughout the night and that the cause was still being investigated.
