Cyclist death prompts police investigation

Police said the cyclist was found with serious injuries on Wednesday morning

Police are investigating after a cyclist died on a road in Derbyshire.

A man in his 50s was found with serious injuries in Derby Road, Wirksworth, at about 05:00 BST on Wednesday.

Derbyshire Police said paramedics attended but he was confirmed dead at the scene, adding his family has been informed.

Officers are looking for any witnesses or any drivers with CCTV to get in touch.
