Two brothers who put three people in hospital after beating them up in a series of attacks have each been jailed for six years.

Riley Upton, 24, and Bricy Upton, 21, both of Sealey's Lane, Parson Drove, in Cambridgeshire, first assaulted a children’s play centre employee in Fen Road in Wisbech on 18 October last year.

They went on to attack two more people in the town on 4 November, leaving one with a fractured jaw and another with stiches to his eye socket, and were arrested the following day.

Both pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm and assault charges and were jailed on Friday at Peterborough Crown Court.

Stamped on his head

During the first assault in October, staff at the play centre intervened after the duo had become aggressive.

The brothers attacked the employees, leaving one with gashes to the head and bruised ribs.

Then in the early hours of 4 November, the brothers were in Market Square when they approached and attacked a man unprovoked.

They kicked and punched him to the ground. The victim suffered bruising all over his face, chipped teeth and had to have stiches to his eye socket.

After this, the brothers bought alcohol from a fuel station in Lynn Road with a group of others.

They assaulted one of the men in the group, and repeatedly punched, kicked and stamped on his head and body. The victim suffered a fractured jaw and severe cuts and bruising.

'Wisbech will be a safer place without them'

Det Sgt Lee Womack, from Cambridgeshire Police, said: "These attacks were fuelled by a combination of alcohol and the brothers’ seemingly blasé attitude to violence.

"I am pleased they will both be behind bars for a good stretch - Wisbech will be a safer place without them on the streets."
