A driver has admitted killing an 69-year-old man as he crossed a road in Glasgow.
Muhammad Ali, 32, hit George Jarvis on the A77 in the city's Shawlands on 4 March 2022.
A collision investigation found there was "no reason" for Ali not have seen Mr Jarvis.
The restaurant manager pled guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to causing his death by careless driving.
The court heard that Ali had turned right at a junction and hit Mr Jarvis as he crossed the road.
Ali momentarily straddled the lines in the middle of the road.
Medics treated Mr Jarvis - who suffered a serious head injury - at the scene but he died in hospital three days later.
Ali, of Uddingston, South Lanarkshire, is a first offender who had been driving since November 2016.
Prosecutor Harry Findlay said: "Witnesses heard the sound of a collision and heavy braking.
"They saw that Mr Jarvis had been struck by the driver's side of the Ford and was momentarily in mid-air."
Ali's lawyer Murray Macara KC said his client had "expressed his remorse" over the incident.
Sheriff Iain Fleming deferred sentence until next month.
