A man has been arrested after a medical practitioner was stabbed at a GP practice in south-east London, the Metropolitan Police has said.

The force was called to reports of a stabbing at Barnard Health Centre on Granville Road, Sidcup at 12:48 BST on Thursday.

A man in his 60s is being held on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in police custody while the investigation continues.

The victim, a man in his 50s, has been treated in hospital after his arm was wounded but his injury is not thought to be life threatening.
