Two men have been charged with attempted murder following a shooting which left two men injured.

West Midlands Police said shots were fired in Smethwick on 12 January 2023, but the suspects had then left the country.

The force said 21-year-old Jamal Hussain was arrested at a UK airport following his return last Thursday.

This followed the arrest of 26-year-old Azeem Hussain when he flew back into the country last month.

The force said the pair, both from Walsall, have now been charged with attempted murder and firearms offences.

The two victims, who were in their 40s, were treated for injuries which were not serious.
