Peterborough City Council hopes people who have lived experiences of being a carer will be able to shape its care strategy

A council is calling on residents to help develop its carers strategy.

Peterborough City Council hopes to build on the strategy which was co-produced with people who have lived experiences of being a carer to understand what is, and what is not, working well.

The council is celebrating co-production week from 1 to 5 July, which includes organisations working in an equal partnership with the people who are using its services.

Debbie McQuade, service director for adults and safeguarding at Peterborough City Council, said: "By asking residents to get involved in our work right from the very beginning we can make sure that we reach the right people, to help us deliver the right support."

Working Together for Change will work closely with the council to put on a series of workshops during the summer to explore what people believe needs to change and what action can then be taken.

Ms McQuade said: "Co-production is delivering results for Peterborough City Council and people who use services."
