The chief executive of a healthcare group in Guernsey has resigned from the role with immediate effect.

The Medical Specialist Group (MSG) said Jon Buckland had decided to step down on Tuesday from the role he had held since 2021.

MSG, which provides emergency and elective specialist medical services in the bailiwick, in partnership with the States of Guernsey, has given no further details about why Mr Buckland resigned.

Its chairman Steve Evans said: "We would like to take this opportunity to thank Jon for all his hard work and we wish him well for the future."
