A three-week delay will impact the start of roadworks in Brough.

The £300,000 scheme, which includes upgrading roads and paths along Welton Road from Moor Road to Cave Road, had been due to start in July.

But the project will instead begin on 10 August so it can include the crossroads at Welton Road, Skillings Lane and Elloughton Road, East Riding of Yorkshire Council said.

Councillor Paul West said work had been timed to prevent as much disruption as possible.

The first stage will be carried out on 10 August between 16:30 BST and 00:00 BST at the crossroads, up to the Morrisons entrance.

Resurfacing work will start the following day along Welton Road between Moor Lane roundabout and the supermarket entrance and will be carried out daily between 09:00 BST until 17:00 BST for one week.

Further work will go ahead on 17 and 31 August.

Works from the crossroads to the Cave Road junction will also be under way from 09:00 BST until 17:00 BST on 18 August and are due to be completed on 29 August.

Evening resurfacing will then start on Welton Road from the Moor Road roundabout to the new roundabout with Water Lane on 1 until 9 September.

Sections of Welton Road will be closed to traffic and diversions will be put in place during working hours, the council said.
