Emergency services have responded to a plane crash near Rochester Airport.

Kent Police said it was called at 12:28 BST on Wednesday to reports of the light aircraft crash.

Officers attended the scene, alongside two fire engines from Kent Fire and Rescue Service and South East Coast Ambulance Service.

No injuries were reported and the only occupant of the aircraft, the pilot, was assessed and treated at the scene before being taken to Medway Maritime Hospital as a precaution.

The plane came to a stop inside a wooded area near Rochester Road, police said.

The road was partially closed on Wednesday afternoon, with officers carrying out traffic control while emergency services were at the scene.
