A barn fire is still burning after more than 18 hours.

County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to the blaze at Grange Hill Farm in Coundon just after 17:00 BST on Tuesday involving 100 tonnes of baled straw.

The fire is under control, but firefighters are expected to be at the scene for several days, the fire service said.

No injuries have been reported.

"Smoke may be visible from the A689 and A688 near the site," a spokesperson for the fire service said.

"This is not a cause for concern, but we advise motorists and nearby residents to remain aware."
