A charity event where dozens of hot air balloons soar above London's skyline has been rescheduled for later this month.

The Lord Mayor's Hot Air Balloon Regatta, external was set to take place on Sunday, but because of the weather forecast of heavy rain, it has now been rescheduled for 21 July.

Organisers have also earmarked 28 July as a standby date for the mass lift-off of about 50 balloons, if weather is unsuitable.

The event aims to generate awareness about the Lord Mayor's Appeal and has raised more than £250,000 since 2015.
