Murder investigation under way after stabbing

A murder investigation has begun after a man was fatally injured in a stabbing.

Police were called to reports a man had sustained a stab wound in Paragon Place, in Norwich, at about 18:45 BST on Friday.

He died at the scene.

Norfolk Police said they believed it was an isolated incident and officers were still looking for the suspected attacker.

Det Supt Dave Freeman said: "We understand this is a deeply concerning incident and we are working hard to locate the suspect.

"A number of police resources have been deployed to the scene and we are in the early stages of our inquiries to establish the circumstances around this incident."

He added: "At this time I do not believe there to be any wider risk to the public.

"This happened during daylight hours and there would have been people in the area. I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or saw anything suspicious to contact police."
