Man arrested over suspected shooting

A man has been arrested after another man was injured in a suspected shooting.

The victim, in his 50s, was shot in the leg after a man pulled up in a grey Seat Ibiza on Wasps Nest Road in Huddersfield and "discharged a suspected firearm" before fleeing, police said.

The injured man has since left hospital.

West Yorkshire Police said a man, 33, had been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remained in custody.

West Yorkshire Police have asked anyone who saw the incident that took place on Monday at about 08:50 GMT to contact officers.

Det Ch Insp James Entwistle said: “A number of active enquiries remain ongoing into this incident and we now have a man under arrest in custody on suspicion of attempted murder."
