Palace to launch £10m project to repair roof

Work will start next year to restore the historic roof at Blenheim Palace.
The £10.4m project at the stately home in Woodstock, Oxfordshire, is aimed at ensuring the roof remains resilient and preserving its historical integrity.
The palace said the initiative had also created three new visitors experiences that would go live in the spring.
It added that "every penny" of visitor funds would contribute directly to "this vital conservation effort".
Blenheim Palace’s renowned gardens will also undergo a transformation with "new features to be explored every season" in 2025.
Managing director Heather Carter said the restoration project "is not just about preserving our past".
"It's about creating new ways for visitors to engage with our history now and well into the future," she said.
“Alongside the monumental restoration, to be able to offer these unique, immersive experiences that showcase Blenheim Palace like never before is a dream."
The limited-time experiences will offer visitors a new roof top view, an insight into the lives of the palace's servants in the 1890s, and treasures of the private apartments for the first time.
The palace said it expected the project to be completed by 2026.
