A man has been charged in relation to online threats made against the mayor of Derry and Strabane, Lilian Seenoi-Barr.
The 31-year-old man was arrested in May then bailed pending further enquires.
He is charged with improper use of public communications network and is due to appear before Londonderry Magistrates’ Court on 18 September.
Ms Seenoi-Barr made history after becoming Northern Ireland’s first black mayor, and only the third on the island of Ireland.
The Police Service for Northern Ireland (PSNI) previously said the threats were being treated as a racially-motivated hate crime.
