A taxi firm in Hull is looking to expand with a satellite office in a former hair salon.

Wer2 Ltd launched in the city in November 2022 and is based in Walton Street.

According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, the firm has proposed opening a second office in the former premises of Body Beautiful, in Southcoates Lane, east Hull.

The small office would accommodate a maximum of three staff at any one time.

“There will only be infrequent instances where customers need to be picked up within the waiting room of the site,” according to a document by Benson Planning Studio, on behalf of the applicant.

“Taxi drivers will largely operate from their cars via dispatch software in their vehicles and will largely not visit the office.”

The taxi firm has 60 vehicles in its remit, the application states.

No external changes to the building would be required. Hull City Council will make a decision in due course.
