Pedestrian dies following King's Lynn collision

A pedestrian has died following a collision with a car.

Norfolk Police said a silver BMW 530i collided with a pedestrian at about 21:06 BST on Monday at the junction of St James Road and Blackfriars Street in King's Lynn, Norfolk.

The pedestrian, a man in his 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the BMW, a man in his 20s, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been released under investigation.

The road was closed while emergency services attended the scene and it was reopened at about 07:30 on Tuesday.

Norfolk Police said it was keen to speak to a woman thought to have had a conversation with the victim immediately before the collision.

The force said it was appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
