Police have warned of an increase in patrols following the attack in Staveley Road

A man has suffered serious injuries after being stabbed in Wolverhampton.

The 19-year-old was attacked in Staveley Road just before 19:00 BST on Wednesday, police said.

He was treated by police until medics arrived at the scene and took him on to hospital for further treatment.

A knife was recovered nearby.

West Midlands Police said inquiries were ongoing, adding that patrols had been increased in the Dunstall Park area.
