Three people were taken to hospital after a crash involving an unmarked police car and another vehicle.

Police said a closure was put in place along a stretch of Narborough Road between Fullhurst Avenue and Upperton Road shortly after 06:00 BST.

Two officers who were travelling in the police vehicle were taken to hospital but have since been discharged.

A woman in her 30s who was driving the other vehicle involved - a Fiat 500 car - is currently still in hospital with injuries, the force said.

Motorists have been advised to avoid the area and find alternative routes.
