Seven men have been arrested in West Yorkshire as part of an investigation into non-recent child sexual exploitation.

The men, aged between 34 and 49, were arrested at a number of addresses across Calderdale between December and February, officers said.

The offences are alleged to have taken place in the Halifax area between 2007 and 2011 and involved a female who was aged 12 at the time.

All seven men have been released on bail, West Yorkshire Police said.

Det Ch Insp Claire Smith, from the force, said: "We would urge anyone who has been a victim of sexual abuse, no matter when it took place, to report it.

"You will be listened to, taken seriously and supported by professionals with experience of dealing with these kinds of offences."
