Appeal after attack left man seriously injured

Several police vehicles were deployed to the scene while teams in protective clothing searched the area

Police are appealing for information after a man was found seriously injured in the street after an assault.
Officers were called to reports of an injured man on The Wardwick, in Derby city centre, at about 02:30 GMT on Saturday.
The victim was found with serious injuries and treated by paramedics at the scene.
Several police cordons were put in place around The Wardwick area while inquiries took place.
Anyone with information in relation to the assault is asked to contact Derbyshire Police, quoting incident number 104 of 8 February.
