Disruption alert after fallen tree blocks rail line

Fallen trees have been causing problems on the railway between Herefordshire and Shropshire after storms hit the UK, but some services are returning to normal.
Transport for Wales (TFW) warned of delays of up to 40 minutes between Hereford and Shrewsbury because of a fallen tree on the line at Leominster. The rail operator earlier warned all lines were blocked, external between Leominster and Ludlow towns by a fallen tree.
Another fallen tree also meant cancellations on West Midlands Railway (WMR) and Great Western Railway services between Worcester Foregate St & Great Malvern, WMR said.
WMR has urged passengers to use its live departures and arrivals, external information to see journey options.
Earlier, WMR reported, external a tree had fallen on the line between Great Malvern and Malvern Link, with a rail replacement bus requested to operate between Worcester Shrub Hill and Hereford.
WMR has since said the line has reopened, with train services running through the stations returning to normal. WMR said disruption was expected to last until about 12:30 BST.
The whole of the UK faced a spell of strong winds and heavy rain from Sunday, and the Met Office yellow wind alert remains in place until 18:00 BST, with warnings of travel disruption and power cuts.
