Sky-watchers in the South West have been photographing a striking Blood Moon over the weekend.

The phenomenon happens when the Moon passes through the Earth's shadow, taking on a deep red hue.

Astronomer Dr Edward Bloomer, said the UK wouldn't get "the most dramatic reddening that you get with lunar eclipses... but it's worth watching".

Easternmost parts of the country received the longest view, while westernmost Wales and Cornwall only got the eclipse for a minute or two.
