Water supplies have been reconnected to homes and businesses after a water main burst causing floods along a main road.

The burst pipe on North Bar, Banbury left some in the OX16 and OX17 postcodes with no water or low pressure, while Blessed George Napier Catholic School and Hanwell Fields Community School forced to close on Wednesday.

Thames Water said the pipe had been fixed overnight and supplies restored.

The water firm said they were sorry for the disruption and added: "Our customer representatives will continue to support local people who were impacted by flooding as a result of the burst and we apologise to those affected."
