A Hull-based manufacturer of modular buildings has gone into administration, with the loss of about 100 jobs.

Extraspace Solutions (UK) Ltd and its subsidiary Spatial Initiative Ltd have ceased trading with "immediate effect".

A spokesperson for the administrators Ernst & Young (EY) said the companies had experienced "significant losses" on legacy contracts, and it had not been possible to raise the funding required to continue trading.

As a result, the directors had applied to place the companies into administration.

EY said it was working with those affected to ensure they were being offered appropriate support and advice.
