Man charged after American killed by van in Edinburgh

A man has been arrested and charged after an American was killed by a van in Edinburgh earlier this year.

Dr William Noel, 58, from Philadelphia, was struck by the van on Wednesday 10 April in the capital's Trinity Crescent area.

He died from his injuries on 29 April at the the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

A 41-year-old man has been charged in connection with road traffic offences relating to the crash and is due to appear in court at a later date.
