Two men impersonating police officers forced their way into a Grantham home before stealing items.

Lincolnshire Police said the men knocked on the door of a house on Harlaxton Road and claimed to be police officers. When the occupant asked for ID they refused, before pushing past and burgling the house.

The force said the incident took place at about 15:35 GMT on Monday.

Officers are now seeking witnesses, and are appealing to anyone who saw anything, or captured anything on dashcam, to get in touch.

They are especially interested in footage from near to the ESSO garage on Harlaxton Road between 15:30 and 15:55.

In the wake of the incident, Lincolnshire Police is reminding the public to remain vigilant, by checking officer IDs and contacting 101 if anyone refuses to display theirs.
