Man arrested after high street stabbing

A man has been arrested following a stabbing on a busy high street, which left another man seriously injured.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary were called to the incident on the High Street in Shanklin just after 18:20 BST Friday evening.
A 50-year-old man had been stabbed, suffering a puncture wound to his back and a cut to his arm in the attack.
A 36-year-old man from Ryde was arrested later that evening on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and he remains in custody.
The victim had to be taken to hospital for treatment.
