Driver in 30s dies following collision with HGV

A driver in his 30s has died following a collision with a HGV in Norfolk.

The crash between a Suzuki Jimny and a Mercedes HGV happened at 10:12 BST on Monday on the A47 at Terrington St John, near King's Lynn.

Emergency services including police, fire, ambulance and air ambulance were called out and the road was closed for about seven hours.

The driver of the Suzuki, a man in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Norfolk Fire and Rescue service, external sent appliances from King's Lynn South and North fire stations as well as Terrington, and crews had to use hydraulic rescue equipment.

The road reopened at about 17:15.

Norfolk Police appealed for any witnesses to the collision or anyone with dashcam footage.
