A "Floodmobile" is to visit parts of a county recently affected by flooding to offer advice and showcase methods of protecting properties.

The truck will be in Wellington, Herefordshire, on Tuesday and Ewyas Harold on Wednesday.

The local authority said the aim of the visits was to help people understand the various ways to protect their home or business to minimise disruption and damage.

Flooding advisor Mary Long-Dhonau, sometimes known as "Flood Mary" will be joined by representatives from Herefordshire Council and the Environment Agency to answer questions and provide advice.

"We're delighted to see the Floodmobile come to our county," said councillor Dan Hurcomb, cabinet member for local engagement and community resilience.

"It also offers an opportunity to ask questions of Mary Long-Dhonau OBE, a distinguished expert in flooding advice and other professionals involved in flood risk management."

The Floodmobile will be open from 11:00 to 17:00 GMT on Tuesday at Wellington Social Club.

It will then be at Ewyas Harold Memorial Hall from 11:00 to 17:00 on Wednesday, with EA and council officials in the hall to offer advice until 19:00.
