A 14-year-old boy has been charged after three teenagers were robbed and threatened at knifepoint in Wolverhampton.

The trio were approached near Penn Road island on the city ring road on Tuesday, West Midlands Police said.

The boy, who cannot be named due to his age, is due at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on Thursday charged with a total of five counts of robbery and possessing a knife.

A 19-year-old man also arrested following the incident has been bailed as investigations continue.
