Fire crews tackle blaze at former Edinburgh hospital

A blaze broke out at the former Corstorphine Hospital in Edinburgh

Fire crews are continuing to monitor a blaze at an abandoned hospital building in Edinburgh.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said two appliances remained on the scene at the former Corstorphine Hospital on Wednesday afternoon.

The building on Corstorphine Road has been closed since 2014 with the site marked for redevelopment as flats.

A number of roads in the surrounding area were closed until early Wednesday evening, with residents advised to keep doors and windows shut.
