Motorists were left facing delays after a lorry caught fire on a slip road on the M1.

Two fire engines and a water carrier were called to the blaze on the slip road from Trowell Services, near Trowell in Nottinghamshire, on to a northbound stretch of carriageway between junctions 25 and 26 at about 16:08 BST on Tuesday.

The northbound side of the motorway was initially closed, but two of the four lanes and the slip road had reopened at 18:29.

Vehicles were left tailed back to junction 24 at Kegworth in Leicestershire, but traffic cameras show the queues have since cleared.
