The dog looking for a home after 400 days in care

A lonely dog has spent more than 400 days at a shelter but staff are still hopeful someone would take him in.
Barney, a six year old crossbreed, has been at Evesham Dogs Trust, in Worcestershire, since December 2022.
Staff said they were hoping 2024 is the year he finds a family to care for him.
He was one of the trusts “underdogs”, a term used to describe animals looked after by workers for six months or more.
These dogs sometimes have extra requirements, may require extra training, or ongoing veterinary treatment.
In some cases, bosses added, they were simply overlooked.
Rehoming centre manager Chris Slight said Barney was in search of a family with older children.
The dog needs to be the sole pet in a home and walked at quieter times due to his reactivity around other animals, he added.
Mr Slight added he had recently spent time in a foster home and established a positive history within a home environment.
"He has so much love to give and we're excited to find him the forever family he truly deserves," he said.
"We are confident that, with the right family, his progress in a secure home environment will showcase his potential as an affectionate and loyal companion."
Those interested in adopting Barney are asked to contact Dogs Trust Evesham.
