Swan back in river after smashing through skylight
- Published
A swan has been returned to the wild after crash-landing through a glass skylight in the roof of a warehouse.
The mute swan ploughed through the skylight at Lush Cosmetics in Poole, Dorset.
He ended up suspended above the warehouse in netting but climbed out and plunged to the floor after trying to fly off a girder.
The swan had been recuperating from bruising and a cut to his wing at Ringwood-based charity Wildlife Rescue.
Staff at the warehouse had called the wildlife charity for help after his unexpected arrival through the roof, which left the swan surrounded by shattered glass.
Mike Meeks, from Wildlife Rescue, said: "He had made a remarkable recovery... if we were to name him, we'd call him 'Lucky'."
The charity said he had been released into the River Avon in the Avon Valley.
