New hotel proposed for marina site

Plans for a new hotel have been put on display at a Staffordshire wedding venue.
Bosses at Aston Marina want to build a new 35-room hotel on their 42-acre (17-hectare) site near Stone.
They said the proposals - which include wedding suites and business rooms - have already received positive feedback from Stafford Borough Council.
Similar responses were also received from members of the public during a consultation over the plans, they added.
A planning document shared with local residents said business parks in the area were seeing growth, bringing about the need for more accommodation.
It’s understood the development is unlikely to be built until after 2027.
A statement on the marina's website said their consultation was carried out ahead of submitting an application for the hotel.
More public opinion would be sort before the local authority took a final decision on the plans, they added.
This news was gathered by the Local Democracy Reporting Service which covers councils and other public service organisations.
