Woman, 86, dies in Hove house fire

Crews from across East and West Sussex were called to the fire

An 86-year-old woman has died in a house fire in Hove, police say.

East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service said it was called to the blaze in Kingsway shortly before 07:00 BST on Sunday.

Crews from Hove, Roedean, Preston Circus, Worthing and Shoreham attended the incident and the fire, which is not being treated as suspicious, was extinguished.

Sussex Police said the road was closed in both directions but had since reopened.

An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.
