Youth, 17, arrested for attempted murder of teen

A 17-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a teenage boy was stabbed in the face.

Warwickshire Police said officers were alerted to a report of a stabbing Church Way in Bedworth at about 12:50 on Friday.

The teenager was taken to hospital with serious injuries to his face, the force said, but are not thought to be life-threatening.

On Sunday, a boy from Bedworth was arrested in connection with the stabbing.

Det Insp Chris Spencer thanked the public while police investigate the "serious attack".

"I would like to reassure the public that we are treating this as an isolated incident," he said.

"Our enquiries continue and I appeal for any witnesses or anyone with information to contact us."
