A boy has been taken to hospital after he was allegedly attacked with a hair comb at a school, police said.

Norfolk Constabulary was called to the City of Norwich School on Eaton Road at 14:15 BST on Thursday.

The force said a boy was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital with injuries which are not thought to be serious.

A boy has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and remains in police custody.

Supt Wes Hornigold said: "We will be investigating the full circumstances surrounding this incident.

"The victim is expected to be released from hospital later this evening following treatment."

City of Norwich School is a secondary school and sixth form which is run by the Ormiston Academies Trust.

It has more than 1,500 registered pupils and was rated as good by Ofsted, external following its last inspection.
