Fire 'severely damages' telehandler in Devon

A telehandler vehicle was left badly damaged following a blaze in Devon, firefighters said.

Devon and Somerset Fire Service said crews from South Molton and Barnstaple were called out to the incident in North Molton at 15:05 BST on Tuesday.

South Molton Fire Station, external said the vehicle was "severely damaged" by the flames and crews had to protect the environment from water run-off by using soil and absorbent pads.

A spokesperson said the cause of the blaze was accidental and crews had to help cool the telehandler's fuel tanks, which contained 13.2 gallons (50 litres) of diesel and 26.4 gallons (100 litres) of oil.
