An officer has been injured after the driver of a car failed to stop for police and was involved in a pursuit in Leeds.

The officer suffered non-life-threatening injuries and needed hospital treatment following the incident on Selby Road at about 13:15 BST.

The occupants of the Seat Ibiza involved in the pursuit were arrested after their car was brought to a stop, according to West Yorkshire Police.

A force spokesperson said: "Inquiries remain ongoing, which necessitated the road being closed for a short time."

A second vehicle not involved in the pursuit was also damaged, they added.
